Netflix’s ‘Moments’ Feature Lets You Easily Share Your Favorite Clips
NEWS | 12 May 2025
So you're watching a Netflix movie or TV show and see a moment that's really grabbed you. What's the best way to share it with someone else? Or save it for posterity? Previously, this has been quite a technical challenge—you'll notice even screenshots get blocked by Netflix's anti-piracy technology. But there's now an official feature built right into the Netflix app for saving and sharing as many clips as you like. It's called Moments, and you can find it in the Netflix app for Android and iOS, though not on the web or any other devices. Moments was added at the end of 2024, six months before Netflix announced that it will soon begin rolling out a major overhaul of its user interface. So while you may have to wait a few weeks to see the new Netflix features—like “responsive” recommendations and TikTok-style vertical videos—you can start sharing with Moments now. Moments can be shared with others or kept to yourself. When you get to the part of the show or movie you want to save, tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the playback controls. You'll see a Moments button in the lower-left corner. Tap the button and you get taken to the Moments screen that shows thumbnails of previous clips you've saved for this particular film or show. (If you haven't saved anything yet, you'll just see a row of black squares.)
