I'm Margaret Qualley,

and this is the Wired Autocomplete Interview.

[upbeat music]

Has anyone ever Googled this? [laughs]

[upbeat music]

What movies has Margaret Qualley been in?

I was in The Nice Guys. That was my first movie.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a movie called Sanctuary.

The movie I'm promoting right now is Drive Away Dolls,

and getting to work with Ethan Coen was absolutely dreamy.

So yeah, maybe my dream roles

are just to work with directors I love.

What does Margaret Qualley do for fun?

I hang out with my friends and my family, and I dance a lot.

I love dancing. I love going on a walk.

I love organizing for fun. [laughs]

Come to my house, it's a party. We'll organize.

What Margaret Qualley favorite food?

I love sushi, Dad's pancakes.

If I'm calling ultimate last meal kind of situations,

I love a good Greek salad with some fish.

Oh, I also love frozen yogurt.

I think everyone loves that,

or mint chocolate chip ice cream.

That's one of my favorites.

What Margaret Qualley fashion.

I love skirt, I love shirt, I love dress. [laughs]

Like, sometimes good, sometimes bad.

You know, I love jeans and a T-shirt

or jeans and a tank top.

I love fashion.

My most coveted piece of clothing

is a pair of jazz shoes that my sister gave me.

She saved up her allowance when she was 10 years old

for my fifth birthday.

Yeah, very sweet.

Why did Margaret Qualley start acting?

Grew up dancing, thought I was gonna do that,

changed course, moved to New York,

and my then-boyfriend brought me to an acting class,

and I absolutely loved it.

I realized that it was what I wanted to do,

and I tried to do it.

How did Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff meet?

We met at a friend's birthday party,

and then we started dating.

How to pronounce Margaret Qualley?

Often, Qualley.

I think someone who did the clapper just said Qualley.

[Margaret laughs]

No, it's cool.

Who Margaret Qualley looks like?

Probably my mother.

Or sometimes I get Emma Roberts, which is fun for me,

and also, sometimes, I'll get Jennifer Connelly,

which I really like that as well.

Margaret Qualley Once Upon a Time in Hollywood character.

Pussycat was her name, and initially, it was Kittycat,

but Quentin came up with the name Kittycat,

but then it turns out that Kittycat

was a member of the Manson family,

so he renamed the character Pussycat.

He asked me if it was okay with me

if my character's name changed from Kittycat to Pussycat,

which I thought was a really cool ask,

and I was like, Absolutely, I love it.

Whatever you come up with,

and that was the inception of Pussycat.

Margaret Qualley Ethan Coen.

Yeah, crazy. So excited.

I don't have the greatest sound bites for these things.

I don't have the perfect story

that encompasses the entire movie or something,

but I love Geraldine.

I think she's just an absolutely phenomenal actress.

She became one of my best friends,

and Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke are, of course,

two of the most talented filmmakers out there,

and it was absolutely outstanding getting to work with them.

They're some of the best people I've ever met.

I just love 'em.

Can Margaret Qualley dance?

Heck yeah, I can!

I did a really good job doing press for myself

as an adolescent and making myself seem

like more of a ballerina than I am,

because I thought that that was cool,

but the reality is that I grew up doing competition dances,

and it's very challenging, nut more like pageantry visuals

and false eyelashes and rhinestones tights,

and I was once on the side of an 18-wheeler

for a Showstoppers competition.

There wasn't much of a career path for competition dancing,

and I wanted it to have longevity,

but ultimately, it didn't have longevity,

because the reality is is that I was good at ballet,

but not great, and that's that sad story. [laughs]

Can Margaret Qualley make music?

Not at all.

I cannot make music, and I just really would be surprised

if anyone were to have ever searched this

into any search engine.

Okay.

Is Margaret Qualley related to Andie MacDowell?

Yes, that's my mom.

Is Margaret Qualley on Instagram?

I have a family account.

I'm not gonna say I'm never using the interface,

but I don't have an Instagram account,

but I can send a meme, you know.

Is Margaret Qualley vegan?

No, I'm not.

I think the world of vegans,

and I think that they are the future

and that I one day will eat less burgers.

Margaret Qualley Lana Del Rey song.

This was one of the coolest things

that's ever happened to me.

I absolutely adore Lana del Rey.

I think she's the best poet of our generation.

It's such a beautiful song, and I love you, Lana and Jack.

Margaret Qualley tattoos.

I've got a few.

I have this here which says times five.

My sister did a stick and poke on me.

Basically, we would fight when we were kids

about who loved each other more

and be like, no, I love you more.

No, I love you more. [laughs]

One time, she said, I love you infinity times five,

and then I would be like,

Well, I love you infinity times five of that,

and so then she would like be like, Well, it doesn't work.

I already said times five infinity,

and I would be really hung up on it,

and then upon reflection, we found that story quite cute,

so we got it tattooed,

or we tattooed it on each other's arms.

Margaret Qualley eyebrows.

Margaret Qualley video game.

I did the voice and body for the character Mama

and her sister Lockne and Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding.

Margaret Qualley birth chart.

I am a Scorpio.

I don't know that much about horoscopes,

but that one always elicits quite a strong reaction,

so you love me or you hate me, apparently, so I've heard.

When did Margaret Qualley move to New York?

I moved to New York for 11th grade of high school.

I was 16.

Where is Margaret Qualley in 'The Leftovers'?

The Leftovers was my very first acting job,

and it was this HBO show that Damon Lindelof made.

I loved doing it and learned so much on that show,

and yeah, it's a cool show.

Margaret Qualley Chanel bride.

It was really fun, honestly.

Virginie Viard, it was her couture show.

I think I just did one fitting,

and then one more final tuneup.

Feels like a big deal.

Feels kinda like, to put on a wedding dress,

it's kind of like, ooh.

Okay, last one. Margaret Qualley Kenzo.

Spike Jones directed this dance commercial

for Humberto Leon and Carol, who make Kenzo.

I got to do this kinda crazy dance for it,

and I remember being like, I don't know,

there was something vulnerable about the experience,

but it was also so exciting.

I don't know why I'm saying any of this.

[Margaret laughs]

Thank you so much, Wired.

I hope that you enjoy Drive Away Dolls, and that's all.

[bright music]
